31st Jan - 1st Feb 2008 POWDER Face to Face Meeting FOSI is proud to be a W3C member

Work on the new Protocol for Web Description Resources (POWDER) is continuing at W3C under the chairmanship of FOSI's Phil Archer. The next face to face meeting is being hosted by our long-time friends at the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications - NCSR Demokritos. Like FOSI and the Università deglí Studi dell'Insubria, NCSR is also a participant in both the POWDER Working Group and the Quatro Plus project which is seeking to make machine-readable trustmarks part of the infrastructure of the Web.

Following the publication of various early draft documents, the POWDER working group has received a lot of expert input from Semantic Web experts that has lead to some re-thinking on some of the finer points of detail. It is anticipated that these important revisions will be finalised at the Athens meeting, after which they can be written up and new drafts published. The group is hopeful of making rapid progress once that has happened and FOSI plans to use the new technology to underpin a suite of new ICRA data services around the middle of 2008.
