Corporate Responsibility Manager Telefónica Group
María José Cantarino joined Telefonica in 1997, developing her career in areas directly related and focused on the international projection and expansion of Telefonica.
In 2005, she joined Telefonica Móviles España, where she was in charge of projects directly designed to reduce the digital divide for specific demographic groups, such as battered women and immigrants, and worked to promote the safer use of ICTs among younger users.
Since 2008, she has been the Corporate Responsibility Manager at Telefonica, S.A., with special focus on new technologies and young peoples’ behavior online, as well as the experiences and rights of younger users.
She is currently involved in international projects, promoting the responsible use of mobile phones and looking at online child protection. She is in charge of developing projects dedicated to educate and empower children, young people and adults with the tools, knowledge and skills to navigate safely on the internet. The scope of this strategy covers all the countries where Telefonica is present.
María José Cantarino also represents Telefonica in national and international conferences and events related to new technologies and children. She took a degree at the University Lille III (France), and a postgraduate degree in Management and Administration at the University of Valenciennes (France).
