Director, Europe, Middle East & Africa Family Online Safety Institute
For the past 25 years, David has had a wide range of leadership roles in the technology and telecommunications sector. He is currently FOSI's Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Working with a growing FOSI membership, David also oversees the organizations web site and wider online strategy. Based at FOSI's London offices n the UK, he is a member of the UK Council for Child Internet Safety (UKCCIS), an active participant in wider European Commission and International initiatives.
After an early career in retail with Dixons Stores Group (DSG), David entered the computer industry in 1984. Consecutive senior executive roles in Motorola, Packard Bell and Compaq, during the industry’s most formative stages, have given him a unique insight and International perspective. In 1998 David became IBM’s Marketing Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa for its Consumer Division.
In 2003 David joined the board of the Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA) and was actively involved with the organization through two member companies (SolarSoft and RuleSpace), both pioneers in the field of online safety technology and services.
David is a History graduate from the University of Kent at Canterbury and has a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
