Following the highly-acclaimed two-day roundtable in London, FOSI hosted a one-day European Conference designed to bring together key industry figures, experts, government representatives and the wider stakeholder community, to discuss how to ensure a continued and successful international push for global digital citizenship and safe and responsible online use. With over a 100 attendees, from 75 organizations, 15 countries and 4 continents this conference proved an oustanding success.

Sponsored by AT&T, with further and valued sponsorship from France Telecom, Nominum and Editions Profil, it brought together the key voices in the international Internet stakeholder community. It faced up to the challenges that universal broadband coverage creates for the Internet industry and how corporate responsibility is evolving to meet them. Conference sessions explored industry, government and charitable responses to the issues that less developed nations face as they try to provide internet access to their citizens.

Sessions focused on digital citizenship, media literacy, privacy, technology solutions and their impact on internet safety, location-based services and wireless safety efforts, and safe online use in developing countries.
