GSMA Joins Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA)

London, UK, 10th June 2004: The GSM Association (GSMA), the global trade association representing more than 630 GSM mobile network operators across 200 countries today announced that it has joined the Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA).

New Microsoft Front Page Add-In Helps Website Authors Make The Internet Safer For Children

Tool Links with ICRA System So Authors Can Add Content Labels to Web Sites

Microsoft Corp. and the Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA) today released a new free add-in for Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003, the premier Web site creation and management application. This new tool helps web site authors more easily add ICRA content labels to their web pages. The ICRA labelling system works with a variety of content filtering tools to help protect children from potentially harmful content on the Web by giving parents a way to assess which sites are safe for young people to visit.

QUATRO: The Online Quality Assurance Project Launched

A new project is being launched on 1st November under the European Union's Safer Internet Programme1 to help internet users find what they want, trust what they find, and avoid material they choose not to see. The Quality Assurance and Content Description project (Quatro) brings together 9 organisations from across Europe including labelling schemes, user advocacy groups, academics, technologists and publishers.

Le taux d'équipement en France est en forte progression depuis trois ans. Aujourd'hui presque 3/4 des foyers français ont l'accès à Internet. Si le haut débit permet aux internautes d'avoir plus de confort sur le Net, il est aussi source de danger par sa connexion permanente au web. Selon SANS Institute, un PC sous Windows non mis à jour est infecté après à peine 12 minutes de connexion à Internet.

Microsoft Signs Licensing Agreement With ICRA

Agreement Enables Use Of Leading Global Labelling System

ICRA, the Internet Content Rating Association, has announced today that it has signed a licensing agreement with Microsoft Corporation enabling Microsoft to utilise the ICRA system in a range of products such as Internet Explorer, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Frontpage.
