Yahoo! Joins FOSI to Enable Safer Internet Experience

Internet company promotes safer surfing on the web


WASHINGTON – January 28, 2009 –The Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) today announced Yahoo! is joining the international, non-profit organization to help identify and promote best practices, tools and methods to protect children on the Internet. Catherine Davis Teitelbaum, the Yahoo! Director of Policy for Child Safety, will serve on the FOSI Board of Directors. As a leading Internet company dedicated to online safety, Yahoo!’s membership will provide valuable insight to keeping families safe online.


“FOSI welcomes Yahoo! to our organization and we are eager to begin collaborating on ideas to create a safer Internet experience,” said Stephen Balkam, CEO of FOSI. “Over the years Yahoo! has played an important role as the Internet has developed and will further provide FOSI with an insightful voice on how to best promote online safety while families are surfing the net.”
