Screening: Cyber-Seniors - Connecting Generations

September 10th, 2014

3:00pm - 6:30pm

Yahoo!, 110 5th Street, San Francisco, 94103

Join the Family Online Safety Institute in San Francisco on September 10th for a screening of "Cyber-Seniors - Connecting Generations", a touching and often humorous documentary that chronicles a group of senior citizens as they learn how to become more connected online through the assistance of teenage mentors.

"Cyber-Seniors" draws attention to the vast knowledge gap that exists between senior citizens and youth when it comes to the use of technology, and also serves as a wonderful example of the great things that can happen when we make the effort to help connect the under-connected members of our communities.

Following the the screening, FOSI's CEO, Stephen Balkam, will hold a Q&A with the film's producer, Brenda Rusnak. Registration will open at 3pm, with the screening beginning at 3:30pm. There will be a cocktail reception following the event, hosted by Yahoo!

FOSI's 8th Annual Conference

November 12 & 13, 2014

Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center

Washington, DC

The Family Online Safety Institute's 2014 Annual Conference will be taking place at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, in Washington DC on November 12th and 13th.

This year's conference "Redefining Online Safety", will explore the ever-evolving nature of online safety, and discuss what this concept really means in today's connected world. What is the best way to keep our kids and ourselves safe online, and understand the risks that are out there, while still leaving ourselves open to taking advantage of all of the opportunities available to us on the Internet?

With panel topics such as Parenting in the Digital Age, Wearables, Education and Student Data Protection, Tech for Tots, Media Literacy, and International Policy, we are very much looking forward to widening the debate on what it means to be safe in the online world. Join us as we create a new definition of what it means to be safe online and to finding new practical solutions to the challenges of our digital world.
