Put simply, our mission is to make the online world a safer place for kids and their families. We work towards this goal by identifying and promoting best practices, tools and methods that also respect free speech.

In this age of free-flowing digital content, we all understand the incredible benefits the Internet brings to our lives; however, we must also recognize the need to protect children from the worst of the Web. So how can we ensure the safety of kids online? Can industry leaders rally around a comprehensive set of policies, technologies and public education messages to demonstrate that they are capable of rising to the challenge? This critical question drives our work every day; FOSI, through our member companies, is at the forefront of industry efforts at self-regulation. We believe that a combination of “tools, rules and schools” will ultimately keep kids safe online.
