FOSI Hosts Euro Forum to Tackle Online Safety and Privacy Concerns
Dublin Gathering Highlights Digital Citizenship
DUBLIN, IRELAND - In conjunction with Europe's Year of Citizens, the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) will host its Annual European Forum. The event convenes leaders from industry, government, academics and NGOs to focus on online safety, privacy issues and data protection.
The Forum, taking place at Google's EMEA headquarters in Dublin, will feature keynote remarks from U.K. Member of Parliament Claire Perry, who will address the importance of exchanging ideas to advance online safety in Europe. Frances Fitzgerald, Ireland's Minster for Children and Youth Affairs will also speak at the event. Fitzgerald is a strong advocate in Ireland for children's online safety.

Facebook, MacArthur Foundation, Mozilla, and the Family Online Safety Institute Launch Project:Connect
WASHINGTON, DC - April 18, 2013 - Facebook, The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Mozilla, and the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) today announced a series of activities to advance healthy online experiences so young people can more easily make smart and responsible choices on the Internet.

Have YOU Taken the Pledge? A Platform for Good Asks Internet Users to Use Their Online Power for Good
Taking "A Pledge for Good" Means Joining a Movement of Positive Internet Use
WASHINGTON, DC - February 5, 2013 - A Platform for Good (PfG), a project of The Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI), is asking everyone to pledge to use their power for good. The launch of A Pledge for Good coincides with Safer Internet Day, an international event which aims to help make the online community a safer, more respectful place.
The pledge consists of a simple but powerful statement: "I will use my power for good," and will support teens and parents in using the Internet to create a movement of positive interactions – from reaching out to old friends, sharing compliments, or becoming virtual volunteers.
