During the last ten years Maria Jose's professional career was developed in Telefónica, with special focus on new technologies and minor protection. She was responsible for creating and kicking-off a strategy towards children when dealing with new services such as mobile phones and the internet. As part of this strategy she launched actions in three differents areas: Awareness campaigns, Commercial activities and Corporate Responsibility.

Maria Jose also represents Telefónica in international Fora dealings with minor protection, as Safer Internet, and appropriate EC working groups. Currently she has been appointed as Minor Protection Responsible for the Telefónica Group.
