StreamShield Joins the Family Online Safety Institute
StreamShield commits support to online child safety by becoming a founding member
LONDON, February 22, 2007 StreamShield Networks today announced that it has joined the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI), the international non-profit organisation whose mission is to identify and promote best practices, tools and methods of online safety. StreamShield joins in the company of major telecommunications, internet and networking companies like BT, Cisco, Microsoft, AOL and Verizon, to be a founding member of one of the world's leading self regulatory internet bodies.
StreamShield's membership emphasises the importance of corporate social responsibility within an industry that prides itself on self regulation. As a provider of network based security services such as parental controls, malware protection, anti-spyware and anti-adware, StreamShield is committed to enabling service providers to offer a safe surfing solution to their customers. StreamShield is also a funding council member of the Internet Watch Foundation, a UK organisation whose aim is to minimize the availability of potentially illegal internet content.
