Dieter Carstensen from Save the Children Denmark has been involved in international projects, focussing on online child protection, since 2001. He is the Chairman of the European NGO Alliance on Child Safety Online (eNACSO), financed by the European Commission’s Safer Internet Plus Programme. Dieter is a current member of the EU Social Networking Task Force, as well as member of the International Advisory Panel of the European Commission’s research project, EU KIDs Online II. Furthermore is he part of the International Save the Children Alliance's European working group on child protection.

He has been actively working on combating illegal content via the EU co-funded Danish Internet hotline and in extension to this, Dieter held the position of Vice President of the INHOPE Association up till May 2007, and prior to this held the position of Board member without portfolio. Dieter holds an Honours degree in International Business and Marketing, and a post graduate qualification in Marketing Communications. Dieter is married and has two sons, all living in sunny Copenhagen, Denmark.
