Micah Schaffer joined YouTube in January 2006. As a founding member of YouTube's operations team, he has spearheaded development of content policies, legal compliance and a comprehensive child safety program.

Recently Micah took a temporary leave from YouTube to serve as 'Obama for America's' New Media Director in Arkansas, where he managed the campaign's technology infrastructure and provided statewide logistical support.

Prior to joining YouTube, Micah worked with technology policy and intellectual property non-profit advocacy organizations such as Creative Commons and IP Justice. In 2000, he worked in conjunction with the civil liberties organization Electronic Frontier Foundation to organize the defense of Universal v. Reimerdes, a First Amendment test case of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
