Events Internship 2017


The Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) is seeking an Events Intern. We would prefer someone who could work 5-8 hours for 1-2 days per week in the FOSI Washington, DC office, but are flexible on dates and hours. We are happy to work with any college/university to grant internship credit upon request.

FOSI works with parents, policymakers, and industry leaders (Board Members) to make the Internet safer for kids. The events intern would work closely with other members of the FOSI team and assist in the preparations of a variety of events on our 2017 calendar.

This position is unpaid, but we will provide a travel and lunch subsidy. 

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the creation of event promotional materials - both printed and electronically 
  • Assist in updating the FOSI website with relevant event information
  • Help to set-up and manage the registration system used for FOSI events
  • Researching speakers
  • Assembling packets of event collateral
  • Research options for hotel room blocks where needed
  • Proofreading of programs and other event collateral
  • Attending FOSI events where possible to assist with assist with registration, timekeeping and more
  • Other tasks as assigned
