FOSI Policy Coordinator
Job Description

The Family Online Safety Institute is an international, non-profit organization which works to make the online world safer for kids and their families.  FOSI convenes leaders in industry, government and the non-profit sectors to collaborate and innovate new solutions and policies in the field of online safety.  Through research, resources, events and special projects, FOSI promotes a culture of responsibility online and encourages a sense of digital citizenship for all.
FOSI brings together and highlights the best safety messages, tools and methods to reach parents, children and caregivers. We continually expand our efforts to educate and inform governments, regulators, industry and media around the world on a balanced approach to online safety. With this in mind, FOSI is looking for a Policy Coordinator to assist with FOSI’s education and outreach efforts in Washington, DC and around the world. You will be responsible for executing a robust outreach plan to educate policymakers on the realities of children’s online usage.
FOSI is a small team, with a hands-on culture, you will be required to assist with various projects and events that promote our mission. 


  •  2-3 years’ experience in or with Congress, policy advocacy organizations, or government relations
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work successfully on both sides of the aisle
  • Event planning experience
  • Experience with the issues of children and technology a plus

  • Work with FOSI’s team to build upon our policy network, including with the administration, agencies, congressional offices, NGOs and partner organizations
  • Execute a robust outreach plan to educate key policymakers on FOSI’s work
  • Build data assets and craft written documents to improve partner interactions
  • Research and track policy topics in the US and around the world
  • Additional administrative and organizational tasks relative to FOSI’s work, as needed
