Kathy Poplin

Director, Global Public Policy

Kathy has responsibility for the development and implementation of AT&T’s strategic international, federal and state public policy initiatives for Privacy Policy and Online Safety. Kathy focuses on privacy policy for consumers across AT&T lines of business including wireless, Internet, and video services. Kathy has participated on panels for various industry groups including the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI), and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). She has worked extensively on issues concerning children such as Cyberbullying, Sexting, Distracted Driving and the FTC’s Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.

Ms. Poplin has over thirty-five years of telecommunications experience. Prior to joining AT&T, Ms. Poplin served in various leadership roles within Southern Bell, South Central Bell, BellSouth Telecommunications and Cingular Wireless. Ms. Poplin received her B.A. from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
