'Online on Wednesday’ is an hour-long panel discussion series once a month hosted by the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI). The first panel will feature FOSI CEO, Stephen Balkam, Rep. Melissa Bean (D-IL) and a small number of panelists discussing the pressing issues with online safety for the new Congress and the Obama Administration.
Everyone has a stake in the Internet and the way it evolves. Industry representatives, policy makers, legislators, educators and Hill staffers are encouraged to attend. The monthly Hill Panels will begin in March and discuss a different online safety issue each month. The series will be especially helpful for staffers when responding to constituent issues on online safety, from educational initiatives available for children and parents, to guarding privacy while online, to when and how law-enforcement should be told about an issue, to cyberbullying and 'sexting.' FOSI will discuss it all.
Come to observe and participate, and be part of the movement for online safety, encouraging a new culture of responsibility.
