Luis Alejandro Nagy

After obtaining his Computer Systems Engineering degree from Tecnologico de Monterrey, Alejandro Nagy completed his master and doctorate in psychoanalysis at the Institute of the Psychoanalytical Society of Mexico (SPM) where he also serves as training analyst and professor. He is an international certified psychoanalyst and has specialized in online clinical therapy. He has held various positions at the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA) currently being the Chair of the Social Media Task Force. Former member of the Executive Board of the Federation of Psychoanalytic Societies of Latin America (FEPAL) and professor of the Public Image Consultants School at Mexico.

As the Director of the Youth Helpline at Alianza por la Seguridad en Internet (ASI), Alejandro has given conferences at mayor events in Mexico fostering a culture of online safety, prevention, detection and treatment of youths and adults who have developed pathological use of Internet such as cyber bullying, compulsive online video gaming and gambling, virtual exhibitionism, among others. He is an active explorer and promoter for the research of the psychological impact of the information and communication technologies on human behavior, cognition and emotions using the psychoanalytical perspective.
